Imtinokcha is the seven-year-old protagonist of this children’s book. He dreams of becoming a log-drummer one day.
His grandfather carves a miniature log drum for him and Nokcha becomes very good at beating the prescribed rhythms. At harvest time, Nockha sprains his ankle and is forced to stay back in the village with an old woman and two old men, while the rest of the villagers are out in the fields. Suddenly they hear enemy warriors approach and Nokcha has to quickly think of what he could possibly do to save the village.
